It is a real image at the requested pixel dimensions, not a screenshot of the smaller preview.
There are two kinds of brightness involved. The page brightness control darkens the RGB value being drawn. Your monitor, phone, or tablet also has a physical or system brightness setting that controls emitted light. A white value at 50 percent page brightness is a medium gray signal, while pure white displayed with the device backlight at 50 percent remains a white signal with lower physical luminance. For room lighting, adjust both carefully. For visual panel inspection, keep this page at 100 percent and change the device setting separately.
2. How to use a White Screen reliably
Start by choosing the task, because the best setup changes with the goal. For a quick dust check, select white, leave the page brightness at 100 percent, and use a comfortable hardware brightness. For a dark-room light, lower the page brightness before entering fullscreen. For a pixel inspection, work through white, black, red, green, and blue in a consistent order. For an exported background, select the destination size first and then tune color, brightness, and warmth while watching the rendered HEX value.
Click the large display or use its fullscreen icon. A second click exits. Browsers require fullscreen to begin from a deliberate user action, so it cannot be forced when the page opens. Escape also exits native fullscreen on desktop browsers. If a browser does not expose the Fullscreen API, the page uses a fixed in-page view; browser bars may remain visible in that fallback. Keyboard users can focus the display and press Enter or Space to switch modes.
Let your eyes settle before judging a subtle defect. Reflections, a bright window, dark adaptation, viewing angle, and automatic display features can all change what you see. Disable Night Shift, blue-light filters, adaptive tone, dynamic contrast, and automatic brightness when the goal is diagnosis. Re-enable the settings you normally use afterward. A useful observation should survive a second color, a different angle, or another input source.

If a defect remains across inputs and colors, photograph it at normal viewing distance and close range, note the background color, brightness setting, model, serial number, and purchase date, then consult the manufacturer's policy. The grid formed by physical pixels is much finer than a CSS preview; browser zoom does not turn this page into a microscope.
4. White Screen checks for display uniformity
A White Screen uniformity check shows how consistently a display presents brightness and color across its surface. A solid browser color can tell you where to investigate; it cannot report luminance in nits, Delta E, gamma, gamut coverage, contrast ratio, or factory tolerance. If color-critical work depends on the answer, measure rather than estimate.

White Screen light from a laptop or tablet can provide useful fill for a call, identity photo, tabletop object, tracing task, or emergency reading surface. It is a broad source relative to its size, so placing it close to a face produces softer shadows than a small bare lamp. Equal RGB channel values are neutral grays in the file, though a display with a warm or cool white point may not make them appear perfectly neutral.
Brightness scales the chosen RGB channels downward, and the temperature control applies a modest channel bias before the preview and PNG are produced. The Output area shows the final HEX color, so the file is reproducible. If you need the exact custom HEX without modification, set brightness to 100 percent and temperature to Neutral. If you need true color-managed production, create and convert the color in software that supports embedded ICC profiles; this lightweight PNG exporter does not embed a custom profile.
7. White Screen image resolution and dimensions
White Screen image resolution labels are convenient but occasionally ambiguous. This page pairs every label with explicit width and height, and those numbers are the authoritative output. The 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 2160p, and 4320p options use familiar 16:9 raster dimensions. The 480p preset uses 854 by 480 to approximate square-pixel 16:9. The 2K DCI preset is 2048 by 1080, which is wider than 16:9. In casual product marketing, people sometimes call 2560 by 1440 '2K'; here that size is clearly labeled 1440p instead.
The International Telecommunication Union describes 4K UHD as 3840 by 2160 and 8K UHD as 7680 by 4320. Cinema workflows may use different DCI dimensions, and ultrawide monitors, phones, projectors, social platforms, and LED walls use many other aspect ratios. Match the actual destination canvas rather than choosing the largest preset. Upscaling a flat color does not reduce visible detail, but matching dimensions prevents an editor or operating system from cropping, padding, or resampling unexpectedly.
You can edit width and height independently from 1 through 8192 pixels. Doing so changes the selection to Custom. Common portrait examples include 1080 by 1920 for a vertical Full HD frame and 1440 by 2560 for a vertical QHD frame. A square 2048 by 2048 image works well as a neutral editing canvas. Very large canvases require more browser memory even when the final compressed file is small, so use the smallest dimensions that meet the job.

For printing, pixel dimensions alone do not define physical size; print dimensions also depend on pixels per inch and the printer workflow. A pure-color PNG is a starting asset, not a proof of how a printer, projector, or HDR display will reproduce that color.
9. A safe White Screen cleaning workflow
A White Screen makes fingerprints, dried droplets, dust, and cleaning streaks visible, but the panel should not remain powered while you wipe it. Use the white display to map the areas that need attention, then shut down the device and disconnect power according to its manufacturer instructions. 10. White Screen use on OLED displays
White Screen use on OLED requires extra care because OLED pixels emit their own light, and long exposure to bright, static content can contribute to uneven aging or persistent image retention. A full white field drives a large portion of the panel, so it may also trigger automatic brightness limiting on some devices. The result can become dimmer after a moment even though this page has not changed. That behavior belongs to the display, not the downloaded color or browser slider.
Keep fullscreen inspection sessions purposeful and short. Use moderate device brightness when the screen is serving as a lamp, avoid leaving any static color open unattended, and return to varied content when the task ends. Leave them enabled and follow the device manual rather than relying on a webpage to prevent burn-in.
No small animation or brightness wobble in a browser can guarantee OLED protection. Pixel shifting must move content far enough and panel compensation must operate with hardware knowledge that a generic webpage does not have. If you see temporary retention, stop the static content and allow normal varied content or the manufacturer's recommended care cycle to run. Do not repeatedly launch a manual pixel refresh unless the manual recommends it, because maintenance procedures vary.
11. White Screen comfort and responsible use
A large white field can feel much brighter than a normal page because nearly the whole screen emits at once. Lower the device brightness before opening fullscreen in a dark room, then raise it only as needed. Match the screen to the surrounding light, reduce glare from windows, and keep a sensible viewing distance. Page brightness can soften the color, but the device brightness control is the direct way to reduce emitted light.

If a line or spot appears in the preview, take a browser screenshot. When the mark appears in the screenshot viewed on another device, it comes from rendered content or software. When it does not appear in the screenshot but stays at the same physical location through other sources, the panel, coating, or contamination is more likely.
